Requirements
- Interest in housekeeping work demonstrated by previous experience or ability to learn
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions, use care and attention when using equipment
- Insurable under the hospital plan to be permitted to drive a company vehicle
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or GED
- Hospital, cleaning and/or factory experience
Responsibilities
- Clean patient rooms, utility rooms, nourishment rooms, conference rooms, offices, corridors, stairways, locker rooms and restrooms.
- Clean toilets, urinals, sinks and lockers.
- Replenish supplies.
- Collect trash and needles and dispose of them in an appropriate manner.
- Dust ceilings, ceiling vents, TVs, light fixtures, doors, walls, wall hangings and flat surfaces.
- Wash or spot clean walls, cabinets, elevators, counters, desks and windows.
- Clean floors, carpets, floods and body fluids.
- Use and maintain equipment, such as vacuums, buffers, cleaning carts, buckets, wringers, sweeping tools and mops.
- Clean and disinfect beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, IV poles and other items in patient rooms.
- Strip and make beds.
- Transport and move furniture and equipment.
- Report malfunctioning equipment, unsafe conditions and broken items.
