About The Position

The Environmental Services Assistant Manager oversees cleaning and sanitation services at a long-term care facility. This role manages and supervises environmental services staff and assists the EVS Manager with daily team operations to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. The position also supports staff training, recordkeeping, safety and infection-control compliance, and communication with residents and facility management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, including the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and safety regulations.
• Basic computer skills for recordkeeping and report generation.
• Must comply with COVID-19 vaccination policies.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
• Residency within the service area is required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or facilities management is desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist the EVS Manager in overseeing daily environmental services operations and maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Manage and supervise environmental services staff to ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards meet applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, staff assignments, and supplies and equipment inventory.
• Train staff on cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and infection-control measures.
• Communicate with staff, residents, and facility management about operational needs and feedback.
• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Inspect cleaning work and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Represent HCSG through courteous and cooperative interactions with supervisors, co-workers, clients, residents, and guests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
