We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Service Aide to join our Environmental Services Department. Reporting to the Director Environmental Services, you will be responsible for cleaning all areas of the hospital.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • One year of operations experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer skills, facsimile, email and paper management.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Services Department.
  • Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, and clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, and stairways in a clean neat and sanitary manner.
  • Completes work assignment in a timely manner.
  • Uses and maintains equipment properly.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Assist visitors with directions whenever requested.
  • Always introduces self to patients, families and visitors.
  • Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
  • Transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.
  • Replenishes supplies.
  • Follows all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, standard precautions and isolation precautions.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities.
  • Maintain set quality standards when performing job duties. Work days, evenings or night shift as assigned.
  • Ability to work on his/her own with normal supervision.
  • Observes safety precautions at all times.
  • Maintains age specific safety precautions including: Pediatric, no small or sharp objects or tools that may injure pediatric patients or visitors will be left out. Elderly, maintain adequate lighting or good visibility, keep hallways and pathways clear of debris, cleaning equipment and tools.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Understands and adheres to Loretto Hospital's compliance standards as they appear in the Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
  • Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Hospital regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
