Environmental Services Aide I
About The Position
As an Environmental Services Aide I at Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, you will perform a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain facility cleanliness. Attention to detail and a commitment to customer service are important. This is a per-diem, as-needed position in the Environmental Services department at 2652 Ridgeway Avenue, Rochester, NY 14626, with a day-shift schedule of 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The role includes physically intensive work. Physical requirements may include lifting materials up to 100 pounds, climbing ladders, crawling into tight spaces, and working on uneven, slippery, or elevated surfaces. The job may involve exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, loud noise, and mechanical hazards. Personal protective equipment and periodic physical examinations may be required. Accommodations will be considered for physical requirements reported by an employee or their physician or delegate.
Requirements
- Ability to understand English.
- Ability to prioritize and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Customer service-driven.
- Ability to meet the described heavy physical requirements, subject to consideration of accommodations.
Nice To Haves
- High school graduation or equivalent preferred.
- Previous environmental services experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Follow a written schedule and complete the approved cleaning process task sheet.
- Dispose of regulated medical waste and trash.
- Set up and/or clean conference rooms and common areas.
- Operate mechanical floor cleaners as assigned.
- Adhere to uniform, attendance, departmental, and organizational policies and procedures.
- Use good judgment when prioritizing multiple requests or responsibilities.
