About The Position

This role involves cleaning and supplying patient rooms, removing soiled linen, and maintaining various areas of the hospital including nursing stations, lounges, lavatories, common areas, floors, public bathrooms, and offices according to standard procedures and hospital objectives. The position also includes floor care tasks such as mopping and buffing, refuse removal including trash, soiled linen, and red waste, and facility cleaning such as washing walls, hanging cubicle curtains, and cleaning stairwells. Additionally, the role requires providing customer service to patients, visitors, and co-workers, maintaining assigned equipment, and reporting any necessary repairs.

Requirements

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of housekeeping experience is preferred.
• Previous experience using battery operated floor scrubbers, buffers and burnishers is preferred.
• Minimum of a High School/GED is preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Clean and supply patient rooms.
• Remove soiled linen units.
• Clean nursing stations, lounges, lavatories, common areas, floors, public bathrooms, offices and any other areas assigned.
• Perform floor care: dry and wet mop floors, buff floors with buffing machine, burnish floors with burnishing machine.
• Collect and transport trash, remove soiled linen and red waste.
• Wash walls, hang cubicle curtains, clean stairwells and perform any other assigned project.
• Provide friendly, efficient customer service to patients, visitors and co-workers.
• Maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and report any machine malfunctions.
• Observe and report need for repairs of hospital equipment, furniture, fixtures, etc.
