About The Position

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is seeking Environmental Service Technicians/Housekeepers to support operations at the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards across various areas of the medical center, including outpatient rooms, break rooms, common areas, and restrooms. The schedule is subject to change at the direction of Ansible or its customers. Ansible is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing solutions in national security, health care, and information technology.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen.

Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist.
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
Ability to carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.
Ability to push/pull with 30 lbs of force.

Responsibilities

High dust, wipe walls and all furniture in outpatient rooms. Clean any debris or paint left by contractors. Mop floors with germicidal solution. Vacuum carpeted floors. Keep all horizontal surfaces free of dust and debris. Change out cubical curtains when needed.
Maintain all floors (except carpeted areas) by sweeping, dust mopping, damp mopping, wet mopping, dry buffing, and spray buffing to ensure a uniform, glossy appearance free from dirt, debris, dust, scuff and heel marks, other stains and discoloration. Clean baseboards, corners, and wall/floor edges. Move and return furniture, trash receptacles, and other moveable items to maintain floors underneath.
Clean break rooms, including VCT flooring (dust mopping, wet mopping, refinishing). Clean counters, sinks, and shelving, ensuring no particles on or underneath appliances and wiped with VA approved germicidal. Wipe down tables, chairs, and other furnishings with VA approved germicidal, leaving them free of particles, smears, or stains. Ensure vents, ledges, and walls are clean with no lint, finger marks, or stains.
Clean common areas, including waiting areas, chairs, tables, windowsills, stairwells, and corridors by sweeping, mopping, and wiping down with VA approved germicidal frequently. Clean entrance mats as required.
Remove all trash from areas being cleaned at the end of each day. Remove boxes, cans, and papers marked "TRASH". Deposit trash in the nearest outside trash collection container. Leave trash receptacles clean, free of foreign matter, and odors. Transport red bags or RMW (Chemo) to the loading dock in the RMW room.
Completely clean, disinfect with EPA-approved hospital-grade germicidal detergent, and polish dry all surfaces of sinks, water fountains, and plumbing fixtures. Ensure receptacles are free of deposits, dirt, streaks, and odors. Keep waiting rooms free of paper, trash, empty bottles, and other discarded material.
Clean all interior glass and mirrors, including glass in doors, partitions, walls, display cases, directory boards, fire extinguisher cases, check-in windows, pharmacy windows, nurses' stations, and glass picture frames. Ensure no traces of film, dirt, streaks, smudges, water, or other foreign matter remain.
Vacuum carpeted areas, ensuring they are free of all visible dirt, debris, litter, and other foreign matter. Remove spots using carpet manufacturer's approved methods. Report any tears, burns, or raveling to the Government representative.
Clean all carpets in accordance with standard commercial practices. Use heavy-duty spot remover for heavily soiled areas. Ensure carpeted areas are uniform in appearance and free of stains and discoloration after shampooing. Remove cleaning solutions from baseboards, furniture, trash receptacles, chairs, and other items. Move items to clean carpets underneath and return them to their original location.
Vacuum and clean interior and exterior floor mats, ensuring they are free of visible lint, litter, soil, and other foreign matter. Remove soil and moisture underneath mats and return mats to their normal location.
Perform spot cleaning on a continual basis, including removing smudges, fingerprints, marks, streaks, and spills from washable surfaces of walls, partitions, vents, grillwork, doors, door guards, door handles, push bars, kick plates, light switches, temperature controls, and fixtures. Ensure surfaces have a clean, uniform appearance free of streaks, spots, and other evidence of soil.
Dust or clean all horizontal surfaces to eliminate dust collection and wipe with VA approved germicidal.
Change out cubical curtains when needed or soiled.
Completely clean and disinfect as needed with EPA-approved hospital-grade germicidal detergent all surfaces of sinks, toilet bowls, urinals, lavatories, showers, shower mats, dispensers, plumbing fixtures, saunas, partitions, dispensers, doors, walls, and other such surfaces. Ensure receptacles are free of deposits, dirt, streaks, and odors. Disinfect all surfaces of partitions, stalls, stall doors, entry doors (including handles, kick plates, ventilation grates, metal guards, all stainless-steel appliances and wall areas adjacent to wall-mounted lavatories, urinals, and toilets).
Descale toilet bowls weekly or as needed to keep areas free of scale, soap films, and other deposits. Ensure surfaces are free from streaks, stains, scale, scum, urine deposits, and rust stains after descaling.
Sweep and mop floors, ensuring the entire floor surface, including grout, is free from litter, dirt, dust, and debris. Floors should have a uniform appearance without streaks, swirl marks, detergent residue, or any evidence of soil, stain, film, or standing water. Move moveable items to sweep and damp mop underneath and return them to their original spot. Dust mop, strip, scrub, wax, and buff floors as necessary to maintain sanitary conditions and a clean, uniform appearance.
Stock restrooms sufficiently throughout the day with supplies including soaps, paper towels, and toilet paper. Store supplies in designated areas.
Wet strip and apply fresh coats of floor finish to resilient floors semi-annually or as needed. Schedule this task in coordination with the on-site POC and staff to ensure no disruption.
Perform stripping of wax, refinishing, and rebuffing of individual rooms or designated areas as directed by the on-site POC or designated representative.
Wet mop using a neutral floor cleaner and a Micro-Fiber Mopping System to mop all accessible areas, including corners and abutments. Remove any splash marks or streaks on furniture, walls, baseboards, etc. Disinfect floors using a flat microfiber system for isolation room cleaning.
Do not mop wood or carpeted floors. Use string mops only for large spills, employing a double bucket mopping process.
Sweep, dust, and damp mop hard-surface, resilient flooring, including normal traffic areas, group rooms, and restrooms, using a treated or dust-free method/mop. Ensure cleaning includes corners and abutments. Tilt or move chairs, trash receptacles, and other easily movable items to clean underneath and return them to their proper position.
Spray and buff all floors accessible to a floor machine, unless specified as carpet or special flooring. Apply a uniform coating of non-skid floor finish to protect and restore gloss or sheen. Remove excess floor finish solutions. Apply these techniques only to the portion of the floor needing work to bring the entire floor up to standard.
Strip wax, finish, and buff using non-slip floor finish. "Turn back the rugs" to clean and finish floor areas. Perform stripping of wax, finishing, and buffing semi-annually or as requested, coordinating the schedule to ensure no disruption.
