About The Position

As an Environmental Service Technician with Corewell Health, you will help support high-quality patient care by cleaning and disinfecting assigned areas, removing medical waste, trash, and linens, and maintaining floors, carpets, and upholstery. You will communicate and collaborate with team members to coordinate services and support a positive work environment. No experience is required; training and support are provided, with opportunities to learn and develop new skills. The role is based at Care Center Rockford in Rockford, Michigan, and may require working across department sites for coverage and business needs. The position is full-time, scheduled for 36 hours per week on the evening shift, from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., on variable days, with work every third weekend.

Requirements

• No experience is required; training and support are provided.
• Must be able to function fully within one cleaning area.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Public service and/or customer service experience.
• Experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial work.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and stock patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas according to established procedures.
• Remove and dispose of linens and waste streams.
• Perform interim and restorative maintenance on hard floors, carpets, and upholstery according to procedures.
• Assemble, maintain, and store equipment and supplies according to department standards.
• Communicate and collaborate with team members to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
• Report general maintenance and specialized cleaning requirements in the work area.
• Assist visitors and employees in navigating the hospital.
• Work across department sites when needed for coverage and business needs.
