This role is integral to providing exceptional, compassionate healthcare to the communities in and around Gilbert, Arizona. The Environmental Service Technician will be responsible for executing daily duties to maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment, interacting with patients, visitors, and staff. This role is crucial for ensuring timely room turnovers, upholding cleaning and disinfection standards, and contributing to infection prevention and patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a clean, hygienic and aesthetically pleasing environment in a healthcare setting.
  • Completing daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, equipment, and other common areas.
  • Demonstrating a working knowledge of health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements.
  • Displaying safe chemical use and equipment handling.
  • Maintaining cleaning cart(s), supplies, and equipment.
  • Removing waste and transporting to the appropriate disposal area, identifying proper waste stream handling (regulated medical, recycle, solid, and hazardous).
  • Following all infection prevention practices, including proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, and proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE).
