About The Position
GMG Sayre is seeking a part-time Environmental Service Aide to join their dedicated team. As a Housekeeper in the Environmental Services team, you will play a vital part in creating a safe, clean, and healing environment for patients, families, and staff. This role supports patient care by performing cleaning, disinfection, waste handling, and equipment maintenance while delivering exceptional customer service. The Environmental Services employees help create a clean, healing environment for patients, families, and staff, meaning your contributions have a visible and important impact on the patient experience. The Guthrie Sayre campus is one of the region's largest multispecialty medical centers, with more than 220 specialty physicians and providers serving patients across more than 50 areas of medicine. Working in Environmental Services allows you to support this important healthcare mission every day. Performs tasks to maintain cleanliness and appearance by following departmental procedures and using equipment properly. Areas involved are exam rooms, offices, bathrooms, corridors, reception area and lobby.
Requirements
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
Nice To Haves
- High school graduate preferred.
- Previous experience in housekeeping helpful.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness, vacuum, wash walls, wash windows, dust, mop floors, damp dust furniture.
- Pick up trash and transport to designated areas.
- Keep equipment, carts, and janitor closets clean on a daily basis.
- Determine the dilution ratio of germicidal cleaning solutions.
- Shows initiative in learning and developing skills in use of all equipment in the department.
- Assists in the orientation of new employees in the department.
- Utilizes proper body mechanics to prevent injuries.
- Demonstrates willingness to accept non-routine work assignments as required.
- Demonstrates effective time management.
- Takes initiative in doing extra work within areas of responsibility such as spot clean walls, baseboards, etc.
