About The Position

Responsible for the safety and cleanliness of a hospital or other healthcare facility. This role does not involve direct patient care. The Environmental Service Aide II will perform tasks such as sweeping, mopping, waxing, stripping, and polishing floors, as well as vacuuming and shampooing carpets. They will also dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment. Additionally, the role includes washing walls, ceilings, woodwork, door panels, windows, sills, blinds, and door glass. Responsibilities extend to emptying, cleaning, and sanitizing waste receptacles, and cleaning and sanitizing restroom facilities and fixtures, including replenishing supplies. The aide will pick up debris around the building, operate high and low speed stripping/buffing machines, and set up tables, chairs, and equipment for various events and activities. A key function is identifying and reporting building maintenance needs.

Requirements

Experience working with the cleaning equipment and chemicals used in hospitals and healthcare centers (2-3 years required)
Strong organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently but also be a team player.
Good communication and comprehension skills.

Responsibilities

Sweeps, mops, waxes, strips, and polishes floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
Dusts and polishes furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment.

Empties, cleans, and sanitizes waste receptacles in assigned areas.
Cleans and sanitizes restroom facilities and fixtures as assigned including sinks, urinals, toilets, mirrors, walls and drinking fountains; replenish restroom supplies as needed.
Picks up debris around building.
Operates and controls high and low speed stripping/buffing machines.
Sets up tables, chairs, and equipment in a variety of settings for special events and normal hospital activities.
Identifies and reports building maintenance needs in assigned buildings and facilities.
