About The Position

Perteet Inc., a civil engineering, planning, and construction management firm, with a public sector client focus, seeks a qualified Environmental Scientist to assist our environmental team on a full-time basis. Located in Perteet’s Everett office, this position would provide support to various environmental studies and assessments projects. Work includes due diligence work, environmental review, report preparation, and various environmental field work. The successful candidate should be team-oriented, capable of working independently with proper guidance, have a high attention to detail, and should be comfortable learning new skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in geology, environmental science or related field; 0 to 3+ years professional experience and/or training in environmental assessment/remediation related work.
• Current HAZWOPER 40-hour training or ability to obtain training certification within one-month of employment.
• Experience in working in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
• Basic-level use of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of ARC GIS is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fieldwork and data analysis to support environmental projects.
• Interpret technical information and assist with preparation of technical reports.
• Review and compile environmental policies and guidelines.
• Participate in Phase I and/or Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
• Participate in Hazardous Building Materials Surveys, including asbestos abatement oversight.
• Participate NEPA-related studies.
• Provide field oversight for environmental compliance during capital construction projects.
• Assist Project Managers and Task leaders with office studies and field assessments.
• Interact with clients as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
