About The Position
The Environmental Planning department of Metric Engineering, Inc. is seeking an entry level/junior Environmental Scientist with 0-3 years of professional experience for a full-time position. The position involves assisting with environmental reviews, GIS, and technical reporting to support Federally funded transportation, disaster, low-income housing, and community development projects. Salary and benefits are industry competitive and the position entails a hybrid work environment (mix of office, remote, and field).
Requirements
- B.S. or B.A. degree in natural or environmental sciences or planning (or similar field)
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills
- Florida driver’s license
Nice To Haves
- MS Office Suite
- Proficient with map data/ArcGIS
- Familiarity with NEPA and/or HUD Grant Programs
Responsibilities
- Working with Metric Team across multiple projects and tasks
- GIS analysis and Data Collection
- Environmental documentation and background research
- Technical report writing/editing
- Field surveys and site inspections
- Maintaining strict regulatory records
- Managing official correspondence and public notifications
