Environmental Scientist
About The Position
APTIM currently has a career-growth opportunity for a junior level Environmental Scientist to support site investigation, characterization, and remedial actions at environmentally impacted sites throughout the United States. Work duties may include the design, installation, and sampling of groundwater monitoring wells, subcontractor oversight, collection of samples from various environmental media for laboratory analysis, and the implementation and maintenance of remedial systems. Strong interpersonal skills are a must, including the ability to communicate clearly and confidently, both written and verbally, to all project team members including client representatives, regulators, and colleagues alike.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a Scientific Discipline (Geology, Environmental Science, etc.)
- 0-3 years of relevant industry experience
- Valid Driver's License with Clean Driving Record required
- Possess or have ability to readily obtain OSHA HAZWOPER certification
- Ability to wear proper PPE for work on hazardous waste sites; lifting and physical work will be required
- Must be able to work in the field in all types of field conditions/weather
- Willingness to work occasional overtime, including weekends, to meet project deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Collection, documentation, and interpretation of field data for management review and subsequent incorporation into project documents
- Work collaboratively in a team environment, provide input on technical, project, and safety issues
- Ensures conformance to applicable codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures
- Applies education, knowledge, and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations

- Perform all assigned tasks in strict accordance with APTIM Safety Policies and Procedures
- Occasional overnight travel to other project sites in the general geographic area may be required
