This full-time faculty position will augment the college's capacity for the B.S. degree in Indigenous Environmental Health that launched in Fall 2025.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Environmental Science or related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to show evidence of effective leadership.
• Background of proven success in working with students, administrators, faculty, and communities.
• Qualified applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• College teaching experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with the use of technology (online learning management systems, video conferencing, etc.).
• Doctorate degree in Environmental Science or related field.
• Minimum of two (2) years instructional experience, preferably in a tribal or community college setting.
• Experience instructing students from minoritized backgrounds.
• Experience using technology in the classroom and/or for distance learning.
• Experience using traditional/nontraditional methods of instruction.
• High degree of self-direction and motivation.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Teaching courses that may include: Introduction to Environmental Health, Technical Writing, Intro to GIS, Environmental Resource Management, Advanced Environmental Health, All-Hazard Emergency Preparedness, Ethnobotany, Water is Life and Aquatic Ecosystems, Environmental Health Management & Planning, Recreational Environmental Health, Solid & Hazardous Material and Waste Management, Senior Capstone, and/or Senior Research Project.
• Teaching schedule may include assignments online, on other campuses (Macy, Santee, or South Sioux City), day, and evening classes.
