About The Position

KBR’s National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country’s most critical role – protecting our national security. KBR is seeking a highly motivated and career-oriented Environmental, Safety & Health (ESH) Manager to join our team supporting a government client in Aurora, Colorado. This is a contingent position based upon contract award.

Requirements

  • Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI with polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety Engineering
  • Ten (10) years of ESH Management Experience
  • Four (4) consecutive years of supervisory experience in the field of ESH
  • Personnel management experience with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity and willingness to manage a 24/7/365 operational environment
  • Highly effective organizational, interpersonal, communication, and group leadership skills
  • Ability to reliably operate in a complex and changing environment, demonstrating solid independent judgment
  • Ability to interpret, capture, and manage customer requirements and expectations

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs at the employee/supervisor/site senior leader level to ensure a common and effective approach for the site
  • Maintain and update as needed SOPs for all safe work practices and equipment and utilize them in the day-to-day training
  • Provide advice, assist, and audit workplace areas to ensure an effective EHS is implemented and working
  • Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected
  • Assist with maintaining the Emergency Response Team, Site Preparedness and Emergency Plans & Procedures
  • Accountable for researching and writing permit applications and working with environmental group and being compliant in completing permit reporting requirements
  • Manage Team base risk assessments and the process and regularly conduct training needs analysis
  • Develop controls for identified hazards; coordinate the implementation of controls from result of hazard analysis.
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control system, policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate workplace accidents and injuries
  • Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace, conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices.
  • Provide advice and counseling for all compliance regulations.
  • Compile, analyze, interpret, and report accidents.
  • Review property and injury reports.
  • Responsible for the overall administration of workers compensation programs
  • Monitor, revise, and implement ongoing updates in safety regulations, laws and reporting requirements
