The Environmental Safety & Health (ES&H) Specialist is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining plans, policies, procedures, and programs necessary to maintain a safe and healthy environment for Northern New Mexico Integrated Security (N2MIS), subcontracted employees, the public, and the environment. The Specialist will assist the Environmental Safety and Health Director (Director) in responding to issues, conducting inspections, assessments, appraisals, employee training, surveys, and accident investigations. These activities may require fieldwork and the development of new ideas and approaches to stimulate safety awareness. The ES&H Specialist ensures work is executed in accordance with Integrated Safety Management (ISM) and Integrated Safeguards and Security management (ISSM) functions and principles and complies with the requirement of 10 CFR 851, Worker Safety and Health Program (WSHP). The position requires the use of various tools, sampling instruments, and great attention to detail is critical. The ES&H Specialist should be able to make independent evaluations with the ability to develop and implement collaborative solutions.
