About The Position

KLA is seeking a well-rounded, passionate Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) professional for a new role as the EHS Engineer at the KLA Services Center in Phoenix, AZ and other US locations. As the US Services EHS Engineer, you will support the Services organization with environmental and safety programs and procedures and provide oversight to ensure regulatory compliance. Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of EHS experience in semiconductor manufacturing, technology, or related industry.
  • Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience in a large facility or multiple locations.
  • Ability to work in a multi-functional environment, respecting and engaging others to resolve problems and improve processes.
  • Experience working in a diverse, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate EHS requirements and risk control concepts to a diverse audience in a succinct and easy to comprehend manner.
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to work to commitments.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 30 Hour Training preferred.
  • Experience with EHS Management Systems (ISO 14001 & ISO 45001) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide EHS support for our Service operations in customer cleanrooms at Semiconductor manufacturing facilities.
  • Develop and implement safety programs and procedures to foster a safe work environment, including laser safety, working at heights, chemical safety, ergonomics, and PPE requirements.
  • Conduct safety inspections, develop corrective actions, and maintain inspection records.
  • Conduct Job Hazard Analysis/Risk Assessments and develop hazard control strategies to reduce risk of injury and potential environmental harm.
  • Advise teams on pre-task plans and tool service procedures.
  • Partner with managers, supervisors, and team leaders in incident investigations, corrective action deployment, and effectiveness evaluations.
  • Provide EHS guidance for high hazard operations including laser devices, magnetics, EMF, XRF, UV, and electrical safety.
  • Conduct periodic audits related to the EHS management systems, compliance, and company policy/procedure conformance.
  • Participate on the site Emergency Response programs including first-aid, CPR, spills, fire/evacuation, and other critical programs.
  • Coordinate the purchase, proper use, maintenance, inspection of personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain chemical inventory and hazardous waste records.
  • Organize employee training sessions.
  • Attend KLA Services and Customer safety meetings.
  • Responsible for compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including but not limited to, US EPA, US OSHA, DOT, state environmental and safety regulators, and industry group standards.
  • Be the EHS expert for the teams you support with excellent customer service.
  • Audit your areas for conformance to customer and company and regulatory EHS programs.
  • Obtain and maintain appropriate EHS credentials required to be successful in this position.
