About The Position

WSP is currently recruiting for an Environmental Remediation Technician to support our Northwest remediation services Team. The position will be based out of our Redmond, WA office. The ideal candidate will have minimum 5+ years proven experience in performing troubleshooting, repair and upgrades of existing remediation systems as well as experience with groundwater monitoring and soil sampling programs. WSP has multiple on-going projects requiring technician support across a large geographic footprint in the Pacific Northwest. The position is self-driven to a large degree, but training and oversight are available. Training is available for remediation system operation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 5 years proven experience in performing troubleshooting, repair and upgrades of existing remediation systems as well as experience with groundwater monitoring and soil sampling programs.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience conducting system operations and/or monitoring.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize evolving project requirements for multiple ongoing projects.
  • Able to work in a high pressure environment with tight delivery deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and properly document field data.

  • You are able to lift 50 lbs, and conduct other physically strenuous tasks such as shoveling and hand auguring, etc.;
  • Experience working with MS Word, Excel, and all programs under MS Office.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to travel outside of the Seattle Metro area for occasional long-duration projects (i.e. over one week).
  • Willing to travel - travel days (work location situated over 50 miles from Seattle Metro area) may range from 10% to 50%

Responsibilities

  • Supporting groundwater treatment system operations and maintenance.
  • Assisting with the implementation of environmental soil and groundwater sampling programs.
  • Field documentation - daily field notes, monitoring logs, O&M inspection logs, entry of data into spreadsheets and/or tablets
  • Routine travel and physical field work required collecting samples, moving pumps and hoses, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned by Environmental Leads
