About The Position

Help protect Pennsylvania's environment by taking on a key regulatory role. As an Environmental Protection Compliance Specialist for the Department of Environmental Protection, you will support actions that keep communities and natural resources safe. This position supports compliance efforts related to storage tank regulations and environmental protection. It involves coordinating enforcement actions, reviewing data, and working with staff, partners, and the public.

Requirements

• One year of professional experience as a Sanitarian, Air Quality Specialist, Solid Waste Specialist, or Water Quality Specialist (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training which affords the applicant the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
• Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• Meet the PA residency requirement.
• Be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with strategies, corrective actions, and follow-up on storage tank compliance cases
• Draft notices, orders, agreements, and other enforcement materials
• Meet with storage tank owners and responsible parties to review violations and cleanup activities
• Enter and review system data to ensure accuracy and meet quality standards
• Evaluate inspection findings, recommend enforcement actions, and support field personnel
• Provide information on regulations and program requirements during meetings and outreach
