About The Position

Midwest Environmental Services is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Environmental Project Supervisor to lead environmental service crews on industrial and remediation projects throughout the Midwest. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing hazardous waste cleanups, emergency spill response activities, industrial cleaning operations, site remediation projects, equipment decontamination, and transportation of waste materials. The Environmental Project Supervisor ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with federal, state, local, and company regulations. Requirements

  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • 2+ years of experience in environmental services, industrial cleaning, remediation, or emergency response.
  • 2+ years of supervisory, crew lead, or project management experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours as project demands require.
  • Wear respiratory protection and maintain a clean-shaven face for proper respirator fit.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid CDL Class A License with Tanker Endorsement.
  • Hazmat Endorsement.
  • 2+ years of CDL driving experience.
  • 2+ years of verifiable vacuum truck operation experience within the last three years.
  • Experience operating manual and automatic transmissions.
  • TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct Environmental Service Technicians and field crews.
  • Coordinate project staffing, schedules, and daily work assignments.
  • Conduct pre-job site assessments and project reviews.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within scope.
  • Serve as the primary field contact for customers and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Complete project documentation, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), OSHA paperwork, and maintenance service requests.
  • Lead hazardous and non-hazardous waste cleanup projects.
  • Perform and supervise industrial cleaning operations utilizing vacuum trucks, water blasters, pressure washers, and related equipment.
  • Support site remediation, tank cleaning, equipment decontamination, and facility maintenance projects.
  • Respond to environmental emergencies, including chemical and wastewater spills.
  • Assist with material transportation, loading, unloading, and disposal activities.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company policies.
  • Enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and other safety procedures.
  • Verify proper use of required PPE and respiratory protection.
  • Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections before and after each project.
  • Maintain operational readiness of equipment and supplies.
