About The Position

Dewberry is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager for their Parsippany, NJ office to support a utility client. This role involves performing various environmental tasks for the client's natural resources group, assisting in moving natural resource-related materials through project phases (development, planning, construction, close-out). Responsibilities include due diligence reviews, attending project calls and meetings, supporting and completing environmental permit applications (municipal, state, federal), attending construction meetings, performing compliance reviews, and closing out projects. The ideal candidate will be flexible, client-focused, and capable of working independently while supporting a team of engineers, scientists, and field personnel. Strong communication skills and proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, and Adobe Acrobat are required. A current OSHA 40-hour certification is preferred. This position requires client approval and may last up to one year. Requirements

  • BS in Environmental Science or closely related field
  • Seven to ten years of experience
  • OSHA 40-hour certification with a current 8-hour annual refresher course certification
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Communicates effectively with clients, coworkers, subconsultants, and county/agency review staff.
  • Composes technical reports, memoranda, and other written communication.
  • Handles multiple concurrent projects.
  • Proficiency with basic MS Office software
  • Driving is a requirement of the position.
  • A clean driving record is required

Nice To Haves

  • Current OSHA 40-hour certification
  • Working knowledge of NJDEP, NYSDEC, and US Army Corps of Engineers requirements

Responsibilities

  • Plans and coordinates all aspects of work.
  • Interacts with the client in the field, at meetings, and on conference calls.
  • Prepares and manages scope, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
  • Work with staff and management team to develop strategic direction for implementation of environmental-related projects and/or litigation support.
  • Support negotiations with regulatory agencies and management of compliance with applicable orders, agency directives, and permits.
  • Manages and meets budgets.
  • Meets project, client, and regulatory deadlines.
  • Other duties as required.
