Intertek's project-related services include assurance, testing, inspection, and consulting, acting as a risk management and quality assurance partner for new developments, existing assets, and facilities. Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI), a part of Intertek, is a leading US provider of construction assurance, testing, and inspection in civil and commercial construction, offering services such as construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing. The Environmental Project Manager will support the Building and Construction business by overseeing Environmental projects in the Latham, New York Region and is expected to travel 25% of the time.

Requirements

BS in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field
5+ years of proven technical environmental consulting experience
NYSDOL-Certified Asbestos Building Inspector and Asbestos Project Designer
Strong technical proposal and report writing abilities
Must be detail-oriented, and a team player with excellent communication, analytical, and organization, as well as time and budget management skills
Must be computer literate and able to operate most field/office equipment relating to one’s discipline
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record required
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

Responsibilities

Plan and implement regulated hazardous building materials surveys for renovation and demolition projects, including asbestos, lead-based paint, PCB-caulk, mold, and other hazardous and universal wastes.
Conduct bulk sampling, homogeneous area assessments, data analysis, quantification, and prepare detailed survey reports and sampling location plans.
Develop project-specific asbestos and hazardous materials abatement plans and associated technical specifications in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Prepare technical proposals and reports.
Communicate with clients and regulators to keep projects moving and on schedule.
Self-manage and make decisions during all phases of a project.
Manage and control project budgets.
Build solid relationships with clients.
Mentor and guide junior environmental staff to strengthen technical capability and team growth.
Support Business Development initiatives.
