About The Position

S&ME is seeking a skilled Environmental Project Manager for its expanding Nashville, Tennessee office. This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys environmental challenges, building client partnerships, and thrives in both technical environmental consulting and client engagement/business development. The Project Manager will lead projects, provide technical guidance, support junior staff development, and contribute to regional business growth. Responsibilities include managing Phase I and Phase II ESAs, hazardous building materials assessments, brownfield projects, and regulatory compliance efforts. The role involves leading project functions from planning and field implementation to reporting and team development, with a combination of hands-on fieldwork and technical office responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience, including progressive Project Management responsibilities
  • Strong project management and leadership skills
  • Candidates must comply with our Fleet Management, Substance Policy, and Reference Check requirements.
  • Only candidates with valid employment eligibility (I-9) will be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred.
  • Lead and/or asbestos accreditation/certification a plus.
  • Excellent business development abilities and existing client relationships in the local market are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate field activities, including development of health and safety plans, site assessment planning, and execution of environmental media and hazardous building material investigations, along with oversight of drilling, grading contractor work, and monitoring well installations.
  • Evaluate and interpret environmental field and laboratory data, and assist in preparing technical reports for submission to clients and regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Support project planning and execution to ensure work meets quality requirements and complies with applicable environmental regulations.
  • Communicate with clients and project stakeholders in a clear, professional, and responsive manner.
  • Assist with proposal development, project scheduling, scope management, and tracking key project milestones.
  • Monitor project budgets, support financial performance, and contribute to business development initiatives.
