About The Position

Sierra Piedmont Inc. is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Engineer/Manager with 5-10 years of experience and PE certification in Georgia. You will work closely with all technical and client facing personnel to execute projects, train and mentor junior associates, and work as a team member to initiate and deepen client relationships. You will be responsible for holding multiple state registrations and be the engineering technical lead on all applicable projects. Fundamentally, the intention of this position is to compliment Sierra’s core mission of “Designing a Superior Client Experience” within our industry.

Requirements

  • B.S. in environmental, chemical or civil engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Georgia
  • Already have or obtain a NCEES file to satisfy a P.E. registration in others states as needed
  • 5-10 years experience which should show a methodical progression in project complexity including environmental compliance groundwater/soil, remediation and due diligence services
  • Specific technical experience must include knowledge of contamination assessment and remediation design and implementation
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Be able to adhere strictly to budgets and deadlines
  • Be self-directed and coachable
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work well with others – team player with professional demeanor
  • Dependable, mature attitude with strong work ethic
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks with efficiency and accuracy
  • Flexible and have the ability to work within specified timelines in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Willingness to mentor others

Nice To Haves

  • Successful advancement into project management and some account management experience is preferred, resulting in knowledge of a wide variety of industry sectors and facility types
  • Professional development courses, especially in the area of communications and technical writing would be beneficial
  • Have a passion for providing outstanding client service
  • Have higher than average self-awareness, which combined with manager coaching, results in an effective “feed-back loop” in which the employee continually advances their hard and soft skills

  • Phase I and II due diligence investigation
  • Subsurface soil and groundwater investigation in preparation for remediation
  • Underground storage tank closures and remedial plans
  • Remediation system design, installation and monitoring
  • Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure plans (SPCC)
  • Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP)
  • Various areas of regulatory compliance and auditing
  • Technical execution and management
