About The Position

The Environmental Program Manager I will manage and oversee the Lead Accreditation and Oversight Division within the Lead Poisoning Prevention Program. The division is responsible for enforcing the provisions of Environment Article Title 6, Subtitle 10, and associated regulations related to lead risk reduction, accreditation, training, and lead paint abatement services. The incumbent will also oversee implementation of regulations related to renovation, repair, and painting (RRP) activities involving lead-based paint in residential, public, and commercial buildings constructed before 1978, as established under House Bill 644. Responsibilities include oversight of accredited lead paint contractors, inspectors, property owners, and other regulated entities to ensure compliance with State lead poisoning prevention laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university including 30 credit hours in engineering or the biological, environmental or physical sciences.
  • Three years of experience supervising a professional staff or as a project supervisor in the General field of work.
  • Possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
  • Maintain a driver's license with no more than 5 points on their driving record in order to drive a State vehicle.
