About The Position

Arcadis is seeking an Environmental Professional (Scientist) to join our Resilience Field Portfolio Solutions Team in Atlanta, Georgia. This position requires both field and office work, with the candidate expected to spend 90% of their time in the field. The role sits within the larger Global Resilience Business Area, focusing on protecting natural environments and water resources while powering the world for future generations. The team addresses the impacts of climate change, rapid urbanization, and loss of biodiversity, including frequent large-scale, unforeseen events like floods and wildfires.

  • BA or BS in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Current OSHA HAZWOPER 40 HR / 8 HR training.
  • Previous industry, consulting, or regulatory internship experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting Project Managers (PMs) and Task Managers (TMs) in planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks.
  • Conducting field work including soil, groundwater, and/or vapor sampling in accordance with Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Performing regional business travel for field work, up to 3-4 days per week on average, with occasional travel within the U.S. for up to two weeks at a time.
  • Implementing various field activities including permit compliance sampling and activities, monitoring well development and repair, and waste management.
  • Operating, maintaining, and monitoring remediation systems.
  • Conducting site inspections.
  • Overseeing subcontractors to perform selected operations.
  • Engaging in Incident, Response, and Recovery (IRR) work.
