About The Position

GHD is looking for an Environmental Planner to join our in our Natural Resources and Impact Assessment Group in our Eureka, California office. Our team provides environmental impact documentation and permitting services for a broad range of interesting clients and projects, working across multiple geographies throughout California and the Pacific. Our work extends across a diverse range of market sectors, including transportation (ports, road, rail, and transit), utilities, local development, energy, mining, and coastal restoration.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in environmental studies, environmental science, planning, geography, public administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in related field.
• Technical expertise in planning, environmental planning, CEQA, NEPA, and/or environmental permitting.
• Knowledge of CEQA and NEPA compliance document preparation.
• Familiarity with federal and state environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prepare documentation, including environmental impact analyses in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA); environmental technical studies and reports; and federal, state, regional, and local agency regulatory permitting applications.
• Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.
• Organize and prepare complex documents using a variety of applications for technology devices, such as standard office software. Also responsible for gathering and summarizing data for special reports.
• Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
