About The Position

The Environmental Operator works with the Environmental Health and Safety team to track, distribute, and clean personal protective equipment (PPE), and assists with orientation, hygiene studies, and tests. The role operates and maintains wastewater treatment systems and equipment, ensures compliance with state and federal environmental protection limits, performs analytical tests, and maintains documentation.

Requirements

• Two-year degree and experience.
• One to three years of manufacturing or plant experience in a hazardous-material production environment.
• Forklift certification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Wastewater certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the movement, removal, storage, labeling, and shipping of hazardous waste.
• Distribute and track personal protective equipment (PPE) inventory.
• Track schedules and perform daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly inspections of areas, equipment, and processes.
• Assist the Department Manager with new-hire orientation and industrial hygiene studies and tests.
• Perform housekeeping in department areas, including baghouses and stormwater routes.
• Operate and maintain wastewater treatment systems and equipment.
• Perform analytical tests and maintain documentation.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal environmental protection limits.
