About The Position

PROtect, LLC is hiring Environmental Monitoring & Mitigation (EMM) Apprentices in Norco, LA. This is an entry-level, paid apprenticeship designed to provide hands-on training in the oil and gas / environmental compliance industry. The role focuses on Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR), emissions monitoring, and EPA compliance. Apprentices will work onsite at industrial facilities, collaborating with experienced technicians to utilize portable analyzers for identifying and reducing VOC and HAP emissions, adhering to EPA Method 21. The position offers a structured career path towards Level II, Senior, and Lead Technician roles, with pay increases linked to certifications within the first year. Requirements

• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word & Excel)

Nice To Haves

• Experience in oil & gas, chemical plants, or refineries
• Familiarity with handheld/PDA data collection devices
• Mechanical aptitude or hands-on work experience

Responsibilities

• Monitor industrial components for emissions using portable analyzers
• Perform LDAR monitoring per EPA Method 21
• Calibrate monitoring equipment to ensure accurate readings
• Identify leaks and apply process leak tags
• Upload daily monitoring data and complete emissions reports
• Communicate findings with site and plant personnel
• Follow all safety policies and report incidents or near-misses
• Perform additional duties as assigned
