The Environmental Manager will be responsible for ensuring organizational compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, maintaining and updating environmental permits, overseeing environmental monitoring programs, managing waste streams, leading environmental audits, and developing and maintaining an Environmental Management System (EMS). This role also involves overseeing day-to-day laboratory activities to ensure compliance, quality, efficiency, and safety, including maintaining SOPs, QA/QC protocols, and documentation. The manager will serve as the primary point of contact for environmental compliance, conduct training, investigate incidents, and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Additionally, the role requires leadership and staff management, including supervising technical staff, providing coaching and development opportunities, and fostering a culture of scientific excellence and safety. Project and program management responsibilities include leading environmental projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, preparing technical reports, and managing budgets.
