About The Position

Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. This role ensures full compliance with environmental regulations, permits, and standards, oversees accurate and timely environmental reporting, monitoring, and recordkeeping, and acts as the primary liaison with regulators, consultants, and the community on environmental matters. The Environmental Manager will also manage the environmental budget, consultants, and plant compliance programs, investigate and resolve environmental compliance issues, complaints, and risks, and lead training, permitting efforts, and continuous improvement of environmental policies and regulatory knowledge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, scientific, or engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of environmental experience in an industrial setting
  • Strong knowledge of federal, provincial, and local environmental regulations
  • Ability to develop, implement, and manage environmental compliance programs and strategies
  • Proven ability to audit operations, identify compliance issues, and communicate findings to management
  • Experience preparing permits, reports, and effectively working with regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders
