About The Position

We seek an enthusiastic, team-oriented Environmental Manager to join our Assessment and Remediation team for a new position in Markham, ON. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse and meaningful projects across the mining, waste management, oil and gas, industrial, municipal, provincial, and federal sectors. Performs various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for a specific technical group or department. Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments. Generally requires multi-disciplinary knowledge of science. Plans and develops scientific tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches. Maintains liaison with units within the organization and individuals inside and outside of the organization. Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field. Work at this level usually requires extensive progressive experience. Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits. Manages group of scientists and/or technicians, coordinating activities of the unit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in environmental remediation and/or reclamation projects.
  • Proven experience managing Phase I, II, and III Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Requires proven project management experience.
  • Requires experience managing a team.

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Professional designation (P.Eng., P.Geo.,) in Ontario.
  • Experience with regulatory applications and documentation in Ontario.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and client management abilities.
  • Willingness to innovate, and to adopt and learn digital tools, including AI-based solutions.
  • Positive, proactive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
