About The Position

As a Laboratory Technician Intern, you’ll be responsible for assisting multiple projects where you will have increasing interaction with our multi-disciplinary staff, regulatory agencies and clients. You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals. The compensation for this role is $14.00 per hour. Schedule: Monday - Friday. We are currently seeking a Part-Time Laboratory Technician Intern to be based in our Richmond, VA lab. A Laboratory Technician Intern is responsible for performing tasks required to support laboratory functions and generate data. The ideal candidate will have basic biology and chemistry knowledge and an eagerness to learn new laboratory skills. They will be trained to maintain safety conditions and will be passionate about doing work that helps things move forward.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a University program studying Chemistry, Environmental Science or similar degree
Proficient with Google and Microsoft office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Responsibilities

Sample extractions/preparation
Preparation of reagents for lab use and/or shipment
Weighing out samples
Retrieving samples from walk-in sample storage
Cleaning laboratory glassware and laboratory areas
Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis
PH adjustment of samples
Overhead projects designed to improve efficiency or accuracy of analyses
Assisting the Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation
Comply with Quality Assurance Program and other policies
Comply with Health and Safety Plan
Other duties as assigned by Group Leaders or the Technical Director
