About The Position

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking an Environmental Inspector to join our growing team in Bridgeport, West Virginia. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of local, field-based environmental projects, supporting pipeline, water infrastructure, and site development work across the region. You’ll play a key role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations while working alongside experienced professionals in a hands-on environment.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of environmental inspection experience, with a focus on erosion and sediment control or pipeline-related projects preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and in varying weather conditions
  • Willingness to travel locally and work flexible hours, including weekends or rotating shifts as needed
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a 4-wheel drive vehicle
  • Ability to walk long distances and navigate uneven terrain
  • Experience using GPS or data collection devices (or willingness to learn)

Nice To Haves

  • Safeland or OSHA 10 certification preferred
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site environmental inspections for projects including pipeline construction, water transfer systems, well pads, and roadway construction
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with environmental permits, plans, and regulatory requirements
  • Inspect and document the installation and maintenance of erosion and sediment control measures
  • Prepare daily field reports, documentation, and compliance records
  • Communicate with contractors, project managers, and environmental teams to address field issues and maintain project progress
  • Utilize GPS or data collection tools to document site conditions and activities
  • Support overall project compliance and environmental protection efforts
