About The Position

EnviroScience, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Inspector I for a full-time, regular position. This role involves conducting field inspections of various sites to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, collecting and analyzing environmental samples, and preparing detailed reports. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in the field. This is a remote hybrid role, with potential for travel and occasional office visits to the Stow, Ohio office.

Requirements

High School Degree
None, entry-level experience
Skilled in Microsoft applications including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of construction techniques, soils, and an understanding of stormwater runoff.
Knowledge of the Ohio EPA Construction General Permit (OHC00006), and construction Best Management Practices as described in the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ Rainwater and Land Development Manual.

Responsibilities

Conduct field inspections of industrial, commercial, construction and residential sites to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Inspect facilities for adherence to air quality, water quality, hazardous waste management, and other environmental standards based on the practice area.
Monitor construction and development projects for compliance with environmental permits and mitigation plans.
Communicate with onsite personnel to relay site findings, concerns, recommendations, or project designs.
Collect and analyze environmental samples, including soil, water, air, and biological specimens.
Use monitoring equipment to measure environmental parameters such as pollutant levels and noise levels.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, sample collections, photographs, and monitoring activities.
Prepare detailed inspection reports, including findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
Document violations and prepare notices of non-compliance or enforcement actions.
Assist in the preparation of environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance reports.
Interpret and apply federal, state, and local environmental regulations and standards.
Provide guidance to businesses, developers, and the public on environmental compliance requirements or design criteria.
Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and planners to address environmental issues and develop mitigation strategies.
