Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Field Technician conducting field surveys, inspections, and assessments.
  • Must possess valid certifications required by state to perform assigned work.
  • Physical ability to stoop, kneel, climb, crawl, walk, stand for extended periods, push, pull, drag, grab objects, and lift up to 50 lbs. in varied work environments to perform sampling activities.
  • Ability to hear and have verbal conversations, climb a ladder and stairs, and crawl through small spaces.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer for documentation and reporting.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, annual physicals, and OSHA-required respirator fit tests.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site surveys, inspections, assessments, abatement oversight and monitoring.
  • Prepare written field reports associated with industrial hygiene, asbestos and microbial projects.
  • Take lead on projects if Industrial Hygiene Field Technicians are assigned.
  • Carry out and execute projects that are developed with client, handed down or assigned by Project Manager.
  • Take the lead on projects when Environmental Health Specialists are assigned.
  • Communicate vital project information to the Project Manager(s), ensuring seamless coordination and progress tracking.
  • Obtain and track project numbers for accurate record-keeping.
  • Serve as a liaison between the client and Project Manager or contractor, ensuring smooth communication and timely resolution of issues.
  • Act as a representative of our organization when performing field work, maintaining a knowledgeable and professional presence.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of contractor’s personnel certifications, medicals, etc. to ensure compliance with abatement requirements.
  • Act as a point of contact and meet with regulatory agents in the event of surprise site inspections.
  • Adapt the scope of work as needed in the field to accommodate actual conditions or changes that arise during project progression.
  • Identify and secure the necessary tools and equipment required for each project.
  • Perform air sampling, clearances, and on-site analysis of air samples while adhering to quality control requirements.
  • Report progress of project and provide technical input to Project Manager.
  • Assist with training and mentoring junior staff members, sharing your expertise and contributing to their professional development.
