About The Position

This role is responsible for scheduling and implementing the organization's environmental, health, and safety training program to safeguard employees and surrounding communities. This includes new hire orientation, job-specific training, and ongoing training to ensure compliance with all applicable EHS policies, procedures, and regulations. The position involves conducting internal audits, responding to and investigating EHS incidents, collecting and analyzing environmental samples, and maintaining detailed records for permit requirements. The role requires local commuting up to 75% of the time to various North-Central Florida locations, with responsibilities shared among the Lakeland, Kissimmee, Orlando, and Jacksonville facilities. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Science, or a related field; or 1 - 3 years of experience in an EHS-related role (aggregate industry preferred)
Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
Regulatory experience with Florida Department of Environmental Protection
Strong knowledge and experience of training methods, procedures, and techniques
Strong computer skills including data management and presentation and experience in MS Office Suite
Ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks concurrently
Ability to work in all weather conditions
Ability to climb various heights on a regular basis
Ability to stoop, kneel, and crawl in various situations/positions
Ability to lift, carry, and/or pull 50 lbs. on a regular basis
Able to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods of time
Exposure to loud noise, machinery, chemicals, fumes, and odors
Required to wear safety equipment including hard hat, safety glasses, goggles, steel toed boots, ear plugs, respirator, gloves, and various other similar items as required

Nice To Haves

Regulatory experience with OSHA 1910 and 1926
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations regarding air quality, wastewater, stormwater, and waste management
Working experience with industrial stormwater sampling methods and conducting visible emissions observations (EPA Method 9 and 22)

Responsibilities

Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, industrial hygiene and safety/health laws, standards, and regulations
Respond to, investigate, and document all EHS incidents
Collect, analyze, and document the results of environmental samples from all facilities to ensure compliance with regulations
Conduct and report recordkeeping requirements for facility’s permits and other environmental regulatory reporting
Maintain and organize detailed records for permit requirements
Build strong working relationships to support the adherence to environmental, health and safety initiatives
Local commuting 75% of time to various North-Central Florida locations; responsibilities shared between the Lakeland, Kissimmee, Orlando, and Jacksonville facilities
Perform other duties assigned
