About The Position

The EHS Manager is a strategic leader responsible for cultivating a proactive, zero-harm workplace through the development, modernization, and continuous improvement of comprehensive Health, Safety, Environmental and Security programs. This position oversees all workplace safety policies, manages emergency response and investigations, acts as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, and ensures that strict EHS compliance is built into every facility project and daily operation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial safety, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent education and/or relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
A minimum of 5 years of progressive EHS program management experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
Highly self-motivated professional with a strong passion for safety and a proactive sense of urgency.
Comprehensive working knowledge of Federal, State, and local EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with expertise in developing and delivering effective employee training.
Exceptionally organized and self-directed, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills to manage diverse responsibilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

Provide EHS Leadership: Deliver day-to-day health, safety, industrial hygiene, emergency response, and environmental support and guidance to facility personnel, ensuring a safe work environment consistent with company policy and federal/state regulations.
Identify and Mitigate Risks: Evaluate health and safety hazards, establish written guidelines, and implement robust control practices to protect all personnel.
Conduct Audits & Inspections: Perform routine EHS inspections and audits, and review investigation reports to ensure corrective actions are identified and implemented.
Drive Safety Culture, develop, prioritize, and deliver comprehensive EHS training and awareness programs for employees and contractors to ensure compliance, prevent injury/illness, and support site EMS certification
Manage Environmental Compliance: Oversee site environmental programs—including hazardous waste management and disposal, stormwater pollution prevention, air emission tracking, and industrial wastewater pretreatment—to ensure absolute regulatory compliance.
Oversee Security Operations, coordinate security-related activities to ensure a high level of protection for people, property, and assets.
Maintain EMS Certification, review and update the site Environmental Management System (EMS) program, driving objective and target projects to achieve and maintain ISO 14001 certification per the corporate program
Lead Incident & Case Management: Manage emergency response protocols, accident investigations, return-to-work programs, and Workers’ Compensation cases.
Track EHS Performance, compile data for reporting out Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports on both a local leadership and corporate stakeholders.
Collect, validate, analyze, and report EHSS and sustainability metrics; identify trends and communicate results to site, regional, and corporate leadership.
Responsible for leadership of the EHSS Supervisor, and EHSS Specialist
Responsible for leading the Chem Lab operations, including supervision of the Chem Lab Supervisor.
