Environmental, Health & Safety Superintendent
About The Position
We are seeking an experienced EHS Superintendent to support a large-scale, mission-critical data center construction program in Northern Indiana. This role is responsible for leading Environmental, Health & Safety oversight across active construction sites, ensuring compliance, promoting a strong safety culture, and driving proactive risk mitigation across all project activities. The ideal candidate will have experience working on large commercial, industrial, or mission-critical construction projects and will be confident operating in fast-paced, high-complexity environments with multiple contractors and trades on site.
Requirements
- 5+ years of EHS experience within commercial, industrial, or mission-critical construction environments
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards
- Experience working on large, multi-trade job sites with high contractor activity
- Ability to lead safety initiatives across multiple subcontractors and disciplines
- Strong communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
- OSHA 30 certification required (or equivalent)
Nice To Haves
- Experience in data center, industrial, or large infrastructure projects preferred
- Additional safety certifications preferred
- Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or related field is a plus
- Candidates may come from general contractors, construction management firms, or large-scale infrastructure projects with strong safety programs.
- Experience supporting mission-critical environments such as data centers, manufacturing facilities, airports, or complex commercial developments is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day EHS oversight across active construction sites
- Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety plans and procedures
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety walks to ensure compliance
- Support and enforce OSHA regulations and company safety standards
- Lead site safety orientations, toolbox talks, and training sessions
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare detailed reports and corrective actions
- Work closely with project leadership, superintendents, and subcontractors to maintain a strong safety culture
- Monitor high-risk activities including hot work, lifting operations, electrical work, and working at height
- Ensure proper documentation of safety records, permits, and compliance logs
- Coordinate with clients, EHS managers, and regulatory authorities as required
- Promote continuous improvement in safety performance across all project teams
