The Buck Institute is seeking a part-time Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Institute’s safety, health, and environmental programs. Operating under the direct supervision of the EHS Officer, the EHS Specialist will help coordinate hazard communication, injury and illness prevention programs, ergonomics, required annual and ongoing safety training, and regulatory compliance activities. The role will also assist with reviewing Biological Use Authorizations for the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) and protocols submitted to the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), as needed. This position will provide guidance and hands-on support to help ensure compliance with applicable Institute, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations and requirements. This is a part-time, on-site position of approximately 20 hours per week. The position may convert to full-time based on Institute needs, funding, and management discretion.
