About The Position

At Novonesis, safety is fundamental to how we operate and how we care for our people. Due to an expansion in production capability at our West Allis, WI site, we are strengthening our Health & Safety function to continue building a safe, compliant, and proactive working environment where everyone can thrive. As a Health & Safety Specialist, you will play a key operational role in implementing health and safety programs and ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements. With a strong focus on execution, you will work closely with site leadership and frontline teams to prevent incidents, investigate root causes, and promote a strong safety culture.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Safety or a related technical field.
3–5 years of relevant experience in a technical or manufacturing setting.
Working knowledge of applicable standards and frameworks, including OSHA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, and related regulations.
Strong time management and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills in English.

Nice To Haves

Professional certifications such as CSP, ARM, ALCH, or CIH.
Experience supporting industrial hygiene programs or ergonomics initiatives.
A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement in safety practices.

Responsibilities

Implementing health and safety programs to support a safe manufacturing environment.
Conducting safety training in line with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
Leading incident investigations and supporting corrective and preventive actions.
Conducting and maintaining job hazard analyses.
Assisting with industrial hygiene surveys and employee programs such as fire prevention, emergency response, evacuation planning, and ergonomics.
