About The Position

This role is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and overseeing the organization's environmental health and safety programs and procedures. The goal is to safeguard employees and surrounding communities, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The specialist will conduct studies and investigations to maintain compliance with government safety and health laws, standards, and regulations, as well as industrial hygiene and environmental safety. This includes investigating accidents, promoting safety-conscious work performance through training programs, and providing safety performance measures. The position requires the delivery of professional safety activities using standard techniques and procedures, along with the ability to plan and manage one's own work to meet goals and conduct root cause analyses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety science, safety management, industrial hygiene, environmental science, occupational health, engineering or other industrial discipline work experience preferred.
  • Equivalent work experience of 3-5 years in an Industrial/Manufacturing Environment
  • Knowledge of: Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA)
  • Knowledge of: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
  • Knowledge of: Workers Compensation regulations
  • Ability to deal with situations involving sensitive and confidential company information
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects in a timely manner
  • Ability to make decisions and operate independently with respect to complex issues and business requirements.
  • Be aware of and observe all safety practices. Including but not limited to- Safety glasses, safety boots, hearing protection, etc… as required
  • Know and follow all safety rules and procedures.
  • Participate in safety committees and initiatives as assigned.
