About The Position

The Environmental, Health, Safety, Security & Sustainability Manager manages site-level environmental, health, safety, security, and sustainability programs for the Belcamp facility. This role ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements, Ingredion policies, and site procedures while promoting a proactive, interdependent safety culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Management, or a related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience in EHSS&S leadership and/or manufacturing operations within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental, health, safety, security, and sustainability regulations, programs, standards, and management systems.
  • Experience managing environmental permits, compliance reporting, audits, inspections, and regulatory agency interactions.
  • Demonstrated experience leading incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action processes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and engage employees at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and EHSS&S reporting and management systems.

  • Advanced certifications in Safety, Environmental Management, Industrial Hygiene, Security, Sustainability, or related disciplines.
  • Experience managing behavioral-based safety programs and safety culture transformation initiatives.
  • Experience leading environmental compliance programs, sustainability reporting, and resource conservation initiatives.
  • Experience supporting food, ingredient, chemical, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of risk management, emergency response planning, and security management programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve site EHSS&S programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and company requirements.
  • Promote and strengthen an interdependent safety culture through employee engagement, coaching, leadership involvement, and behavioral-based safety initiatives.
  • Manage compliance with environmental permits, emissions and effluent requirements, monitoring programs, regulatory reporting, and sustainability performance metrics.
  • Lead site environmental, health, safety, security, and sustainability initiatives that support operational and business objectives.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and assessments to identify risks, evaluate trends, and ensure corrective actions are implemented in a timely and effective manner.
  • Lead hazard assessments, job safety analyses, incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective and preventive action programs.
  • Chair and support the Joint Plant Safety Committee while driving employee participation and ownership of EHSS&S programs.
  • Manage interactions with regulatory agencies, external auditors, insurance representatives, and other compliance stakeholders.
  • Oversee plant security programs, access control procedures, and site security processes to safeguard employees, contractors, visitors, and company assets.
  • Lead sustainability initiatives and support site efforts to achieve environmental performance and resource management goals.
  • Manage EHSS&S resources and direct reports, providing leadership, coaching, development, and performance management.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Human Resources, and site leadership teams to drive continuous improvement and achieve EHSS&S objectives.
