About The Position

ATI Forged Products produces and markets a wide range of specialty metal alloys, including titanium, nickel, and steel forgings to end use markets such as aerospace, energy, oil & gas, and general industrial markets. We have several operating facilities and deliver products to customers globally. We are currently seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager. This position reports to the Director of EHS and a dotted line reporting to the Irvine Plant Manager. This position will manage, develop, implement and promote the zero injury and imperative 8 safety culture as well as executing the daily/monthly environmental inspections and reporting. Environmental activities will be coordinated through our Senior Environmental Engineer with Forged Products. ISO 14001 & 45001 activities will be coordinated through the Forged Products EHS ISO Manager.

Requirements

• 5+ years of applicable EHS experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
• A good working knowledge of EHS regulations such as OSHA, California OSHA, EPA, DOT, and NFPA.
• Experience with sustainability improvement initiatives
• Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and able to influence people at all levels.
• Must be able to comprehend and interpret applicable EHS requirements and translate them into the business language for clear understanding by department managers and employees.
• Must be able to learn and understand the business.
• Must have strong process skills for standardization, continuous improvement and program management.
• Must be a strong communicator as you will be the lead for EHS activities at the site reporting back and taking guidance from the Forged Products EHS Team (Director EHS, Senior Environmental Engineer, and EHS ISO Manager) on a daily/weekly basis.
• Must have a passion for EHS and able to translate into practical action.
• Must have good problem-solving skills and experience.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred 4-year bachelor's degree in a technical field such as EHS, engineering, or science.
• EHS certifications such as an OSHA 10/30, CSP, CIH etc. is a plus

Responsibilities

• Responsible for execution of EHS programs and procedures including but not limited to lockout tagout, confined space entry, mobile equipment safety, hazard communication, emergency response, working at heights and crane & rigging safety with an emphasis on Safety and Accident Prevention for your areas of responsibility.
• Implement behavior based safety initiative driving weekly observations by frontline supervision and managers with routine reporting on observation data.
• Document weekly hazardous waste inspections, monthly stormwater monitoring data, compliance activities to the facility air permits.
• Manage all waste streams (hazardous and non-hazardous), including management of manifests to ensure compliance to the California and DOT reporting requirements.
• Ensure EHS Regulatory Compliance by consistently evaluating existing programs and procedures while monitoring emerging rules and interpretations.
• Responsible for execution of applicable EHS management systems which includes Corporate EHS Directives and conformance to ISO 14001 and 45001.
• Assists with EHS training program for applicable EHS trainings across your areas of responsibility and support the business unit trainings as needed. This could include developing training presentations, delivering classroom training, conducting recertifications for annual lockout tagout authorized employees, mobile equipment, working at heights, confined space, etc.
• Coordinate EHS corrective actions from EHS/customer audits, regulatory inspections, industrial accidents, and other assessments, apart from environmental remediation.
• Manages management of change for the Irvine Facility which includes new processes, equipment, materials, and people.
• Foster the EHS culture within the Irvine facility to drive employee engagement, a safe work environment, and injury and illness reduction.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with stakeholders across the facility by attending area department meetings, toolbox talks, inspections, etc.
• Ensure contractors are performing work safely and following EHS programs and procedures.
