About The Position

The EHS Manager will be a leader who promotes proactive development in EHS Compliance, while supporting operations leadership by providing technical expertise and ensure 3 facilities are following all federal, state, county, and city regulatory agencies compliance. Assist with coordinating and conducting all required EHS training, developing in-depth understanding of and ensure conformance to permit conditions and regulations affecting operations in your site(s). Assist with writing and maintaining all EHS programs. The key function of the EHS Manager will be to promote workplace safety and environmental compliance while upholding the company’s value’s, industry requirements and best practice standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a closely related field.
  • Attention to detail and capability to analyze data and make sound conclusions.
  • Strong organizational skill, ability to prioritize, while managing multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Ability to actively participate in team-oriented processes, influence team engagement and drive team decision making conclusions/solutions.
  • Must posses high level knowledge of all state and federal regulatory standards (Texas).
  • 3-5 years of relevant EHS experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have strong verbal and written skills and possess the ability to communicate with a wide variety of people.
  • Ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision, balances immediate and long-term priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine monitoring required for employee health and environmental issues, including industrial Hygiene sampling as required.
  • Responsible for environmental programs including SWPPP, SPCCC, and environmental committees.
  • Conduct environmental and safety inspections related to regulatory compliance.
  • Implement employee health testing and testing related to any regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct facility EHS audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct testing, selecting, and maintaining PPE inventory.
  • Maintain reporting and document files for all regulatory compliance.
  • Implement and coordinate all required health/safety training and records.
  • Responsible for safety and health programs including ergonomic and safety committees.
  • Develop specific EHS objectives and create action plans to meet those objectives.
  • Maintain, review and report EHS performance, identifying opportunities for improvement along. with implementing preventative and corrective actions as required.
  • Provide technical support for safety and health programs at the company.
  • Improve and maintain site specific internal EHS systems and reporting tools.
  • Assure appropriate countermeasures are properly identified to prevent reoccurrence utilizing vigorous incident investigation process including 5-why root cause analysis.
  • Perform all other job-related tasks as assigned.
