About The Position

This role is for a long-term At-Will contract at a single-site manufacturing facility. The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager will play a key leadership role in protecting employees, the environment, and company assets. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
  • Experience managing EHS programs within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance requirements, and ISO management systems.
  • Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and occupational health and safety management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting accident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hazard communication, emergency preparedness, and industrial safety programs.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and EHS reporting systems.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • English proficiency required.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift trainer certification or CSP, CHMM, or ASP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001, and all applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Manage environmental compliance programs including hazardous waste, solid waste, wastewater, stormwater, air permitting, and air quality requirements.
  • Lead workplace safety initiatives, maintain OSHA-required programs and logs, and ensure timely reporting and investigation of all accidents, incidents, and injuries.
  • Coordinate and lead the site Safety Committee, maintain emergency response plans, and oversee safety-related corrective actions and work orders.
  • Train, certify, and maintain records for forklift operators and other required safety training.
  • Serve as the facility representative for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Review and approve new chemicals for plant use and maintain an accurate chemical inventory and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) system.
  • Oversee recycling operations and personnel, ensuring proper waste segregation, material handling, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage site security personnel and activities, including access control, asset protection, incident response, and compliance with company security requirements.
  • Lead the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program by developing procedures, coordinating training, conducting annual audits, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Support continuous improvement and corrective action activities across the facility.
