About The Position

This position will be responsible for providing leadership and supporting the development and implementation of environmental, health & safety compliance programs for the Fairless and Garrison plants. The role involves analyzing, preparing, and submitting environmental reports and regulatory compliance notifications. It also includes managing recordkeeping, injury and near-miss incidents, and ensuring employees are trained on EHS procedures and policies. The EHS Manager will maintain awareness of safe working conditions, promote safe work practices, and interact with external agencies as a representative of the plant and company.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience working with and providing oversight of environmental and safety compliance at power plants or other industrial locations.
  • Familiarity with EPA, state and Federal OSHA or MSHA regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple activities at one time.
  • Strong interpersonal and excellent written and oral communication skills, including procedures development and implementation.
  • Experience with delivering communications and training related to EHS compliance, corrective actions, lessons learned, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills.
  • Experience with OSHA VPP program management.
  • Preferred experience with Learning Management System.
  • Preferred experience with Maximo, CMMS system, used for EHS reporting.
  • Proven project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership and supporting the development and implementation of environmental, health & safety compliance programs for their plant.
  • Analyzing, preparing, and submitting all environmental reports.
  • Preparing, planning, and submitting all regulatory compliance notifications.
  • Managing recordkeeping and programs required for EHS regulatory compliance.
  • Managing injury and near miss incidents, including injury and illness reporting to the company, investigations, and learnings.
  • Ensuring plant employees are properly trained on permits and all company EHS procedures and policies.
  • Maintaining awareness of safe working conditions and practicing safe work habits in all activities.
  • Educating and promoting safe work practices and programs.
  • Interacting with external agencies as representative of the plant and the company.
  • Resolving technical issues to ensure EHS compliance.
  • Managing projects related to EHS.
  • Maintaining relationships with regulatory agencies, serving as the primary plant liaison.
