About The Position

Triumvirate Environmental is growing its consulting practice and hiring an Environmental Health & Safety Consulting Director to lead consulting engagements and on-site deployments for life sciences, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing clients in the region. The role includes scoping, staffing, planning, budgeting, scheduling, quality review, client readouts, and identifying follow-on phases of work. The Director leads teams of three to five consultants and works alongside technical specialists in industrial hygiene, biosafety, EHS programs, and radiological safety. The position is responsible for signing off on deliverables and proposals, translating technical findings for senior non-technical leaders, building consistent approaches for multi-site programs, developing team members, and partnering with sales on discovery, scoping, and proposals. The role is based in or requires relocation to metro New York/New Jersey or Boston, with 30% travel to client sites. The position requires eligibility to work in the United States without future sponsorship and reliable transportation.

Requirements

  • 10 to 15+ years of progressive EHS consulting or professional services delivery experience, including at least five years owning engagements end to end with sign-off accountability.

  • Personally produced proposals, workplans, and readouts.
  • Life sciences (pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or contract manufacturing) or advanced manufacturing EHS experience.
  • Demonstrated team leadership, with three or more direct reports or engagement teams of three to five, and a record of developing and promoting people.
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, engineering, business, or a related field.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to metro New York/New Jersey or Boston.
  • Willingness to travel 30% to client sites.

  • Master’s degree or MBA.
  • Multi-site program delivery for national or global accounts.
  • Track record presenting technical recommendations to senior, non-technical client executives, such as site heads, operations VPs, and finance leaders.
  • Experience in a high-growth or private-equity-backed professional services environment.
  • Familiarity with structured selling methodologies and comfort scoping alongside a field seller.

Responsibilities

  • Scope, staff, plan, and deliver a portfolio of four to six concurrent engagements; own budgets and schedules and deliver work on time and on budget.
  • Identify engagement risks early and address them before they affect the client.
  • Review and sign every deliverable and proposal in the portfolio before release, on a two-to-four-day turnaround, against house and discipline standards.
  • Serve as the client’s day-to-day owner and coordinate specialists, the seller, and the embedded team so the client experiences one coordinated team.
  • Hold regular reviews with each account owner and bring clients a costed next phase of work.
  • Present hard findings in person and personally address client relationship issues when needed.
  • Frame problems at kickoff, keep teams focused on work that changes the answer, test draft results with clients, and deliver readouts that explain the decision, number, and next step.
  • Translate technical findings into business terms for senior, non-technical leaders and convert readouts into subsequent phases of work.
  • Staff and balance a leveraged team so senior time focuses on judgment and close-out while consultants execute.
  • Involve specialists early to shape analysis; coach team members, give direct feedback, and develop people toward promotion.
  • Structure multi-site programs with a consistent playbook, people, and extrapolation logic that client leadership can act on.
  • Help build and teach the delivery methods and standards used by the practice.
