About The Position

High Environmental Health & Safety Consulting Ltd., an affiliate of High Real Estate Group LLC and one of the High® companies, provides a full complement of environmental health and safety (EHS) services and products to businesses and institutions throughout the United States. We are based in Pennsylvania, but we have provided services everywhere from California to Puerto Rico and most locations in between. We are always on the look out for talented EH&S Consultants to join a dynamic team of professionals with the shared mission of making the world a safer place on job site at a time. This position supports High EH&S clients by assisting with the assessment of Indoor Air Quality and Health Exposure Evaluations in a wide range of business sectors (industrial, energy, commercial, healthcare, construction) including residential. You will be responsible for performing industrial hygiene surveys to measure chemical, biological and physical hazards (noise, ergonomic, non-ionizing radiation).

Requirements

  • Willing to train individuals with the right aptitude and interest in areas needed but would like some basic qualification / experience related to the role.
  • Must have current driver's license.
  • Must have High School Degree.
  • AS, BS in science field would be preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in the asbestos / fungal / lead remediation work
  • Current Asbestos inspector / management planner license for PA
  • Experience in construction methods and aspects for understanding of the building envelope
  • Experience in HVAC systems
  • Solid understanding of sciences (math, biology, chemistry, physics)
  • Experience in emergency services (EMT) and/or human health biology or related medical field
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent technical writing skills
  • Customer service orientation
  • Ability to deliver engaging adult-learning sessions
  • Trustworthiness, Ethical Orientation, Reliability are import to our company.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site field monitoring of workers during their workday at various worksites to evaluate for exposures to various health risks using dosimeters, sampling equipment and other devices.
  • Develop written reports outlining findings and recommendations.
  • Perform qualitative / quantitative respiratory fit-testing and provide safety-health based training to workers.
  • Help with inspection activities and other project work which may include developing written policy or procedures.
  • Most travel is local to Lancaster, PA (within 15 minutes to 2 hours) by car, but is daily. Some overnights may be required from time to time (likely not more than 1-4 days in a month) and occasional longer travel may be needed (train / flight) (1-4x a year).
  • Some days are long (10+ hours), but there is some flexibility of schedule and countering shorter days.
