About The Position

Our site in Chaska, MN is seeking an EHS Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2027 season. This assignment is intended to be full time, 6 months in duration. The EHS Co-Op will play a key role in supporting and strengthening site Environmental, Health & Safety programs. This position will assist with regulatory inspections and audits, contribute innovative ideas that drive continuous improvement initiatives, and proactively support employees and leaders at all levels in creating a safer workplace. The co-op will also participate in incident investigations, help identify root causes and corrective actions, and support the development and communication of EHS initiatives, policies, and safety-related information across the organization.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of environmental, health, and safety principles through coursework, projects, or previous work experience.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing documentation, records, and compliance-related activities.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Must be a currently enrolled student
  • Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June
  • Must be familiar with the university’s requirements to participate in a co-op program

Responsibilities

  • Learn about day in the life of EHS
  • Assist in regulatory inspections. Engage with all levels of the organization
  • Assist with trainings, new hire orientation, proactive engagement activities.
  • Support Continuous improvement of EHS.
  • Data management and record keeping incident investigations and corrective and preventive actions implementation
